After three seasons of Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) safekeeping mystical keys from the forces of evil, the TV show Locke & Key has permanently shut its doors. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, Locke & Key‘s current third and final season shook up the status quo. With Tyler off re-evaluating his life, Kinsey took charge and embraced a leadership role.
Meanwhile, their mother, Nina (Darby Stanchfield), could finally participate in the family’s magical adventures after Bode used the Memory Key on her. That allowed Nina to remember all the supernatural hijinks she witnessed. In the end, the Lockes assembled to vanquish the menacing Frederick Gideon (Kevin Durand) and relinquished the keys by throwing them back into the dimension they originated from. Jones and Stanchfield recently spoke with CBR about their characters’ evolution, stunt work, singing, and the series finale.

Emilia Jones On Adult Acne, Instagram Filters And Why She Adores Elle Fanning

‘In my mind I don’t think I’m famous!’ gushes a humble Emilia Jones down the phone to ELLE UK. We caught up with the British actor to talk through her beauty look for this year’s BAFTA Awards for which the singer, songwriter and actor was a pretty key part considering her Best Actress nomination. Having strolled down red carpets decked out in every fashion house from Louis Vuitton to Givenchy, with a dash of Chanel thrown in for good luck, to promote her starring role in the critically acclaimed CODA, and a lead part in the internet’s most anticipated movie adaptation, Cat Person, slated for 2022, it’s safe to say, Emilia Jones is most definitely famous. ‘I’m just super excited that real life events are back and I finally get a chance to dress up and try different things. I love fashion, hair and make-up so much – I’m just happy I get the chance to play around now.’
For those who haven’t been lucky enough to catch the 20-year-old on the silver screen, you might recognise her surname, or perhaps you’ll have heard her sing with a familiar Welsh lilt. With Aled Jones for a father it’s no surprise that the once child star has been acting and singing since she was just 10 years old. Take a closer look at Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and you’ll spy a mini Emilia. Safe to say, Jones’ star hasn’t stopped rising since then.

“Welcome to the industry!” joked Jessica Chastain and Kristen Stewart to their younger cohort Emilia Jones as this year’s six participants on The Hollywood Reporter’s Actress Roundtable commiserated about overlooked labors of love (“Is anybody ever going to watch it?”), the degree to which fear drives their decisions (Jennifer Hudson and Kirsten Dunst say no, Tessa Thompson and Stewart say no longer) and navigating COVID-19 to give some of the year’s most acclaimed performances.
Convening at THR‘s headquarters in late October were: Chastain, star and producer of Michael Showalter’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye, in which she resurrects the infamous televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker; Dunst, who brings to life a 1920s remarried mother tormented by her brother-in-law in Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog; Hudson, who channels Aretha Franklin in Liesl Tommy’s biopic Respect; Jones, who portrays a hearing child of deaf parents in Sian Heder’s CODA; Stewart, who inhabits Princess Diana in Pablo Larraín’s Spencer; and Thompson, who plays a 1920s Harlem housewife reconnecting with an old friend passing as white in Rebecca Hall’s Passing.
EMILIA JONES I’ve been acting since I was really young. It wasn’t really until I had my first lead role in Brimstone, a film that I did when I was 13, that I realized, “OK, I want to do this for the rest of my life.” There were moments where, you know, you’re too young to play certain roles, but you’re too old to play kids, so there was a moment where I wasn’t really working. But I learned a lot from self-tapes, so there was never a point, even when I wasn’t getting work, that was like, “Oh, this is not for me.”

CODA Breakout Star Emilia Jones Is Coming Of Age — On Screen & Off
Fresh off her star-making turn in Apple TV+’s CODA, 19-year-old Emilia Jones is ready to take on her next big challenge: Fame.
REFINERY29 – On her first day shooting CODA, Emilia Jones jumped off a 40-foot cliff, landing in the freezing water of a Massachusetts quarry.
“Straight into the deep end, quite literally,” Jones laughs as she describes the experience in our Zoom interview ahead of the August 13 release of Siân Heder’s tender and funny coming-of-age film.
